Christchurch Earthquake 2-22-2011 - How can we help?

Its been a week - what can we do to help?
In the heart of Christchurch City at Cathedral Square, Christchurch Cathedral is in ruins as are so many other historic churches and landmarks, lives have been lost, and people including the clergy are in trauma. Lent and Easter will soon be arriving. Bell-ringers will be longing for bells to ring as prayers continue to go up.
At nearby Stewart Plaza within sight of Cathedral Square is the imposingly large "Flour Power" - a quality work of public art that still stands, and in Cathedral Square within sight of Christchurch Cathedral is the "Millenium Chalice" - another quality work of public art that still stands. Something tells me these two works of public art will be taking on whole new meanings the artists who originally created them never even dreamed of.
Back here in Raleigh we have the Raleigh Arts Commission, Downtown Raleigh Alliance, et al. Is there anything we here in Raleigh can do or put together on the fly for charity? If not from the top down, perhaps from the bottom up - a buskers festival for Christchurch with all the proceeds going to charity? There shouldn't be any trouble finding enough buskers willing to show that even the smallest of us can make a big difference.
