Band Together NC Welcomes New Advisory Board Member
Raleigh, N.C.(Oct. 23, 2013) – Band Together NC, a Triangle-based organization that uses live music as a platform for social change, has announced the addition of a new advisory board member, Will Eglin.
Eglin is currently CFO at IEM, a global consulting firm that assists public and private agencies with ensuring the safety, security, and resiliency of citizens, soldiers, and communities. IEM's range of products and services strengthen homeland defense, counterterrorism, public agency performance, and business processes.
“We are honored to add Will Eglin to our advisory board,” said Matt Strickland, executive director of Band Together. “With the induction of our third new advisory board member this month, we are excited to have a diverse group of passionate and philanthropic-minded individuals to contribute to our community and help Band Together raise the bar as a nonprofit organization.”
Eglin will join 32 business and community leaders on Band Together’s advisory board. During their three year-term, advisory board members’ responsibilities include: annual- and long-term fundraising and giving feedback and advice to the Band Together Board of Directors.
The 2013 Band Together event helped raise more than $860,000 for Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities and since its inception in 2001, Band Together has donated almost $3 million to local nonprofits. Band Together has now partnered with two nonprofit organizations, Communities In Schools of Wake County and Communities In Schools of Durham for the 2014 concert event.
Past nonprofit partners have included Urban Ministries of Wake County, Alliance Medical Ministry, StepUp Ministry, The Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood, SAFEChild, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle and more.
