Danis Wins Platinum at 2013 STEP Awards
Raleigh, N.C. (Oct. 18, 2013) – Danis, a leader in commercial construction services in North Carolina, was recently recognized by Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) with a Platinum Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Award.
The STEP Awards were established in 1989 as a tool for ABC members to consistently build upon their safety training programs and gain recognition for their outstanding efforts. The program was developed and written by contractors for contractors. This year’s awards were presented Oct. 4 in Charlotte by North Carolina’s Commissioner of Labor, Cherie Berry.
The Platinum STEP Award requires:
- Recordable Incident Rate– 25 percent below NAICS code within the last year
- EMR– 0.8 (0.9<100 employees)
- OSHA Form 300 & 300A– Previous year
- Fatalities – No OSHA for the last three years
- 20 Key Components – Meets the minimum score
