We'd been considering it for a long while, and we finally took the plunge and canceled our News & Observer subscription. It feels great to be free of the N&O's liberal bias. And it's great for the environment not to be killing so many trees. One of the things we thought we would miss the most are the comics. But we get those free everyday on our computer or smartphones (and in color every day, not just Sunday). We get all our favorite comics, not just the ones the N&O decides to offer us. And news is easy to get online or via smarthpone. Even local news is available (such as on Google News). Why pay for liberally biased reporting when we can get news for free online? The print newspaper is definitely going the way of the old typewriter. Take the plunge -- It feels great!
