RTP CFO Forum Focuses on Bring-Your-Own-Device Policies
The RTP CFO Forum (www.rtpcfos.com) will hold its next monthly meeting on Friday, September 6, 2013. The organization serves as a peer-to-peer networking opportunity for more than 200 senior financial executives in the Triangle area to discuss topics of interest. The featured speaker will be Christine L. Peterson, CPP, ISP, president, Risk Management Associates, Inc. She will discuss the security implications of bring-your-own-device policies.
“Allowing employees to conduct business with personal devices such as computers, tablets and even smartphones comes with security risks to both corporate intellectual property, as well as opening up the opportunity for criminals to gain access to secured corporate information,” says Will Eglin, RTP CFO Forum board member and CFO, IEM Inc. “We are proud to be bringing in an expert from RMA who will be sharing best practices in protecting sensitive company data.”
Peterson is both a Certified Protection Professional and Industrial Security Professional. Along with the other consultants at RMA, she helps clients develop programs that can reduce security risks, save money and increase productivity. RMA has served more than 600 major clients from government, education, manufacturing, service and technology since 1988.
The RTP CFO Forum meets the first Friday of every month, from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m., at the Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP office in Raleigh. Membership in the forum is free, limited to CFOs and by invitation only. To request to join the group, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
