Show Blo your ‘Mo’ to raise money for prostate and testicular cancer charities
RALEIGH, N.C. – Each year in November you might notice more and more moustaches on men’s faces. That’s because the month is proudly referred to as “Movember” to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues such as prostate and testicular cancers.
An award-winning Raleigh salon, Blo, is taking the lead this year to generate awareness in North Carolina. Throughout the month, Blo stylists will be talking men’s health, sharing the importance of early diagnosis of prostate and testicular cancers, and they’ve created a fun way for the community to participate. Drop by the salon in Brier Creek to purchase your “BeerMo” for $3. The plastic BeerMo clips to beer bottles to give anyone their very own moustache. Proceeds are donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
The moustache is important to the Movember cause, because it symbolizes the men’s health movement internationally throughout the month. It’s simple for anyone to participate with Blo during November. Simply share photos of your moustache on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with hashtags #justblo and #movember. Every photo results in a Blo donation to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Blo expects to donate $1,000 this year.

Movember supporters work to change established habits and attitudes men have about their health, to educate men about the health risks they face, and to act on that knowledge, thereby increasing the chances of early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment. In 2011, over 854,000 people around the world got on board, raising $126.3 million. http://www.movember.com
