OBX Outfitters Introducing Wearable Art at Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival Oct. 5-6
(Manteo, N.C.) Made-in-the-USA apparel company OBX Outfitters (www.obxoutfitters.com) is introducing new wearable art at the Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival October 5-6 at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo, featuring designs by North Carolina artists E. M. Corsa and Joshua Davis.
Corsa's one-of-a-kind "Beach Bunny" will be for sale at the OBX Outfitters vendor booth, as will two fun, outdoorsy designs by Davis, including his apropo "Bluegrass at the Beach".
"When we started our company, it was our goal to work with North Carolina artists to share their brilliance on our quality, USA-made casual apparel," Stacy Menzies, company president, said, adding, "We're thrilled to kick things off with two talented people like Liz and Josh."
"Beach Bunny" reflects Corsa's passion for art and nature, the combination giving birth to vivid watercolors portraying both fauna and flora. The Kill Devil Hills resident paints what she knows best, and the appeal of her work stems from a keen eye for accuracy and detail with a balanced composition. Favorite subjects include insects, birds and other small creatures that cross her path and make their home at The Crooked Little House as well as favorite haunts on the Outer Banks. Her artwork can be found in galleries up and down the Banks including Sea Dragon in Duck; Yellowhouse Gallery and Seaside Art Gallery in Nags Head; The Christmas Shop in Manteo; Pea Island Art Gallery in Salvo; and Indian Town Gallery in Frisco. Davis splits time between drawing and painting and teaching art history to high school students, having developed a passion for the latter while earning a BS in Art Education from Appalachian State University. Working in fine art, drawings and watercolors, and graphic design, he continues to pursue his goal as an artist to learn and grow as a painter and maker. In addition to "Bluegrass at the Beach" OBX Outfitters is featuring Davis' interpretation of a passion of many OBX visitors and residents, off-roading on the beach, as an addition the company’s "Find Your Happy Place" line. More info on Davis is available online at www.joshuadavisart.com.
