Deacon Maurice Ferrell will preach his initial sermon on August 26, 2012

Maurice A. Ferrell, eldest son of Gresser and Jerome Webster of Baltimore, Maryland, and brother of Pastor Michael K. Ferrell was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He came to Sutherlin at age 7, to spend the summer with his great-grandmother, Bernice Moore.

Dea. Ferrell was baptized at an early age and joined the White Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he has served God in many capacities. He has taught Sunday School, bible study, and vacation bible school to both youth and adults. He has served our Pastor, Rev. Dr. Melvin Fuller, and members as a deacon for several years. He is an avid percussionist and also plays keyboard and lead guitar for all of the church choirs.

Dea. Ferrell attended the Halifax County school system. He holds a Master's in Business Administration degree from Liberty University, a Bachelor's in Business degree from Averett University and an Associate's in Information Technology degree from Danville Community College. He is currently enrolled in a Doctorate of Philosophy in Leadership Studies degree at North Carolina A&T University. Maurice works at the Center for Public Technology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dea. Ferrell, his wife Vilma, and their kids, Aliyah, Sean, and Emily live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
