SAFE Haven for Cats is presenting a one-evening seminar focusing on revealing the clues to cats’ communication, behavior and body language. The class, presented by professional Animal Behaviorist Alana Stevenson, is designed for cat owners, those thinking of adopting a cat and for pet care professionals.

Stevenson is a professional dog and cat behaviorist, humane dog trainer and small animal massage therapist. She holds an undergraduate degree in biology and a master of science in biology with a focus in education, and since 2002 she has been teaching clients how to humanely teach their animals and remedy behavioral problems.

In the upcoming SAFE Haven seminar, Stevenson will present information about the fundamentals of feline behavior and insights including:

  • Simple verbal and nonverbal communication techniques
  • Understanding how to prevent normal behaviors from becoming potential problems
  • Feline body language

The seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 6-8 p.m. at SAFE Haven for Cats, 8431-137 Garvey Drive, Raleigh.

Registration is $10 online at safehavenforcats.org (click on donate and please put behavior seminar in the comment box).
